Episode 44: Mt. Valor Ascended

The party makes their way to Mt. Valor after dealing with one of Ileana's generals. On the morning of the expedition, the party realizes that Tirithiel has gone and left a note saying that she journeyed ahead of the party to the Baba Yaga, not wanting to trouble them. Sankara takes flight to scout for her, worried that she may not fare well with the dangers on the mountain. Short on time with Bur Boldor's fate looming on the horizon, the remainder continue up the mountain with Sankara planning to locate Tirithiel and reunite all of them later on.

On the foothills of Mt. Valor, they happen upon a humble cottage belonging to Layren. Layren is an eccentric, human widower of his late wife-- a dwarf who he lived with in Bur Boldor. Insight checks, role playing, and luck revealed that he and his wife were worshipers of Abathor (god of death and greed) in Bur Boldor who fled when an extremist sect staged an uprising many years ago. Unfortunately, this latter information was revealed by Lucky's pretending to be a cultist which left a bad taste in Layren's mouth. The party leaves mostly in his favor and Gallogk with hot chocolate.

Lucky, Gallogk, Bjorn, Chip and Bim battle with abominable yetis and other monstrous occupants of the mountainside and eventually find the Ice Temple of the Baba Yaga.

Our heroes battled their way through the temple and halfway through reunited with Sankara who'd met his own challenges and dangers while tracking Tirithiel. Unfortunately, her tracks disappear abruptly.

The party eventually encountered the Baba Yaga in her mountain sanctum. After proving their strength against her, the party was awarded with the second of three parts of ring. Currently, they posses the band and setting for a stone. The last that remains is the stone itself-- presumed to be within the fire temple of the Baba Yaga.

Additionally, the party was offered three choices as Tirithiel appears wrapped in etereal chains by the Baba Yaga:

The party chose to unlock a memory after an arcana/religion check from Gallogk revealed that he would be able to break the curse. He wisely deduced that it would be best not to do so in the presence of the Baba Yaga herself.

The final path forward was a portal from the temple that would lead the party elsewhere. The destination for all would be determined by the first person to go through. Gallogk walked headstrong through the portal first.

The party fell through the sky and landed unharmed at the gates of Dhurdezo...
