Episode 1: Pilot (1/12/2023)

Pilot

Our adventurers found themselves in a tavern with no explanation as to how they ended up there, their memories shrouded in fog and shadow. A dwarven messenger, Sangrim, arrived with news of work in Bur Boldor. Goblins had infiltrated one of Doragaen Mining Company’s mines. Feeling a strange pull towards this quest, the adventurers set off from Glynndarryl after restocking and purchasing two mules. Instead of heading due north through the northern forest of Glyndarryl, the adventurers opted for the main road to the east. Along the way, they encountered a gang of four bandits who had staged an accident in hopes of luring well-meaning passersby to an ill fate. Sankara, the half-elf Druid, felt the brunt of their attacks, but the party ultimately proved victorious. Three of the four met their end and it was decided to hang them from the trees with an ominous note which read “this [was] the fate that befalls bandits”. One of the bandits had tucked their tail and ran, escaping a similar fate. Continuing north, the party stopped at a small hamlet where the party found food and shelter with Gretchen, a humble middle-aged human in a modest inn. Bjorn, the dwarven barbarian, found the amenities she provided to be more than reasonable. After caravanning with a traveling merchant, they arrived in Carrington, a moderately sized human village. There, they met The Incredible Bim– a renowned gnomish bard with a penchant for illusion. He ultimately turned down their invitation to join their adventures but agreed after losing a bet to Lucky, the high elf Rogue, to allow them on his caravan to Mirkarkden, the sister village to the mammoth dwarven city of Bur Boldor. This session ended with the party standing on the outskirts of Mirkarkden, Bim’s caravan disappearing into the traffic of the city ahead, with an almost ghostly, musical echo emanating from the mountain’s face.
