Episode 6: A Royal Invitation (2/15/2023)

A Royal Invitation

Our session opens by recapping Lucky and Sankara's day. Mirkarkden has just fallen the night before, and these two have just awoken in the Copper Tankard. Bjorn and Gallogk had already left for the day to have their adventures (see Session 5). Sankara longed for the woods and to commune with nature. In the solitude of the forest, he met with his goddess, Vishnaiva presented as a giant owl with foliage of feathers and leaves. She leaves him with her sash and the promise that he will see her again soon. Lucky plays a few hands of cards at The Horseshoe, a casino and arcade in Glynndarryl, only to realize that the dealer is his goddess, Tymora. In addition to gifting him one of her golden coins, she offered her thoughts on the recent events in The Sliver, "I don't think it's fair that someone gets to break the rules of The Sliver while we remain on the sideline."

Across Sessions 5 & 6, our heroes have each claimed a Mythic Item from their respective deities: 

The following day, our party was finally reunited and fully rested. They made their way to the palace of Glynndarryl where they met Aurum the Gold, the Ancient Gold Dragon and Defender of Glynndarryl as well as Queen Gabriella of Glynndarryl, Keeper of the Vault of Memories, Steward of the Temple of the Advenar, Wisdom of the Voidborn Trinity. Gabriella revealed that Sending and Message spells had been temporarily intercepted to keep panic outside of Mirkarden to a minimum while she and Alexander searched for answers. Moreover, their attention had been divided with the fact that Michael, first of the Voidborn, hadn't been heard from since his rescue of our heroes from Mirkarkden. Her advice to the party remained that they should continue to conquer the remaining six Trials. In doing so, not only would they continue to reforge their souls but would grow in strength should their aid be required to deal with this new enemy in Mirkarkden. As far as her intel could elucidate, the most reasonable location for the next trial was outside of Solas, in or near the village of Seabreeze. 

Before leaving, Bjorn hires the help of Chip, a Mages' Guild initiate while will teach him how to read. Bjorn is thrilled by this new dynamic. T-h-r-i-l-l-e-d. 

Our heroes were granted a one-time teleportation pass from Glynndarryl to Solas by Queen Gabriella. After teleporting into the Mages' Guild of Solas, the party exited with plans to check into Creature Couture-- and eclectic inn with a wild boutique. However, they were suddenly faced with a manticore, owlbear, and griffon after the carriage transporting them overturned. The session ended with them standing in the middle of the street victorious as a halfling noble merchant runs up, lauding their greatness!
