Episode 42: Promises & Secrets

TROOPS ON THE MOVE

On the strategy of Queen Gabriella and our heros, Lady Katherine of Solas has sent a small portion of her forces to Quaymire in an effort to draw some of The Remnant's troops from Mirkarkden. Lady Katherine's spies reveal that his place was successful. An opportunity has arisen. It appears that a portion of The Remnant's troops advance south and all accounts confirm that the enemy believes that have been undetected. Further intel reveals that their forces do not entirely move on land. Much like the portal attempting to be summoned by Ravinia, a general appears to be able to open a portal connecting to a subdimensional plane where the forces wait, and it is from this mouth that undeath spills. If the party leaves now, they should be able to intercept the small entourage and take them out. If they fly by ship, they can intercept The Remnant just west of Mt. Valor. Given this information, Lady Katherine asks that our heroes do what they can. Taking out these forces could turn the odds for her soldier in Quaymire away from certain death. She would be in their debt

THE SECRET OF FEARNE

Queen Titania, the Summer Queen of the Feywild and crown of the Court of Stars, is wonderful and fierce and powerful and wrathful. It is known that Titania had three children. Damh, the god of satyrs and korreds, her son. Verenestra, the goddess of dryads, was considered Titania's daughter. The Prince of Frost was also a son of Titania. These three, all powerful in their own right by virtue of both she and Oberron, the Green Lord, being their parents.

But there was another child born. It is not uncommon for The Seelie Court to have mortals of renown perform for the fey. On one occasion, there was a mortal satyr, a prolific bard, who caught the attention and patronage of Queen Titania. What the tomes will not tell you, is that he was also the object of her evergreen lust. The relationship between Oberron and Titania was at best a whirlwind, passionate love affair. At worst, a force that could tear the Feywild asunder. Titania would not risk the anger and wrath of Oberrron at the news of an illegitimate, mortal-born child. So, the child was hidden away for years. Separate from The Seelie Court and divorced from the teachings and blessings thereof. This child was sent away into the deep wilderness of the Feywild where she would be raised by a small cohort of fairies tasked with not only keeping her safe but keeping her secret and hidden and confined. Years and years passed until the child grew up and found the arcane tombs of the fairies who'd omitted the deep magics of the Fey from their teachings.

"So I ripped as many pages as I could and fled as far as my hooves would take me." And then I showed up at the party and bumped into Gallgok.

"I didn't want the Muchroom to tell Titania I was safe. I wanted its power to finish sealing myself from her reach. I fear what she would do to me if she found me after escaping. Maybe if I can accomplish something here in The Sliver, I can return with something to bring to the Seelie Court-- a legacy that proves I belong."

If Fearne can journey back into the Feywild of Eternum and reassemble The Seelie and Unseelie Mirror, she thinks she can reach out to Titania. Maybe she can be of help? Bring some type of aid back? Do something to buffet the spread of evil from Quaymire?

Fearne's Departure

Bjorn returns the shard of the Seelie and Unseelie Mirror to Fearne. Gallogk returns the hammer he forged from the metal. Fearne leaves the party with four gifts:

Before leaving, Fearne and Lucky speak. She asks him if he will make a deal and promise to never change. Lucky makes this promise
