Episode 10: The Devourer (3/22/23)
The Devourer
The episode opened with Sankara being teleported back to Creature Couture fresh from his hellish experience in Mirkarkden.
Our heroes traveled to Seabreeze Village where they discovered a town trapped under a curse with drove them to insatiable appetites. Upon further investigation, they discovered a ship, The Devourer, and aboard it was Captain Tyrion the Insatiable-- the second trial.
"Seabreeze is a small fishing and shipping village west of Solas. Home to around 1,500 people. Bordered on the west by a large lake. Bordered on the east by inlets from the ocean to the east. The salt air and sunshine have bleached the dark wood homes built from wood from the Glynndarrylian Forest. Ships bob up and down in the wake of the water. Seagulls, pseudodragons, and other wildlife fly overhead. The coastal crosswinds from the sea provided a constant breeze from the east. Shops, store fronts, and centers of trade all hug the shore while the residential life happens within the interior of the village. The trademark of the village is its five large windmills. Under normal circumstances, this would be a charming waterside village bathe in sunlight. But these are more sinister circumstances, and you do not come during the day. The sun has set and the last streaks of light are snuffed out as an inky blackness covers the sky. The stars and moon find no purchase in the night sky as they are obscured by gathering storm clouds."
After a topsy-turvy battle among the flying Devourer, our party emerged victorious. After a successful skill check challenge, they won themselves an air ship! Returning to town, they checked on the townspeople they had freed from Captain Tyrion's curse-- Henry Goose (owner of Hearth & Home general goods store) and his daughter as well as Marty the Mushroom Guy.
